Plot Summary:
In old Egypt high priest Imhotep started a forbidden respect with Anck Su Namun, the mistress of the Pharaoh Seti. If Seti gets to know from what goes on, Imhotep and his beloved one him sting, but cannot escape from the trustworthy guards: Anck Su Namnun decides to commit suicide, while Imhotep with the Hom-Dai which mostly dreaded curse is given by all: He becomes alive in Hamunaptra, the city of the dead people mummified. More than 36 centuries later, in 1923 to be precise adventurer Rick Ägyptologen Evelyn and her brother Johnathan brings to mysterious Hamunaptra. While Johnathan is sharp to find the legendary Egyptian treasures, Evelyn wants to look for the book of the life which would clear very much in historical knowledge about the old Egyptians. Unfortunately, they and a rival group release the mummy of Imhotep of his everlasting prison from thoughtless American adventurers. Now, with the old and quite agile high priest on the loose, the adventurers and scientists not only to a dangerous enemy, but also a massive threat see against the today’s world in the face: Imhotep wants to let Ankh-su-namun come to life back, the body of Evelyn using, but he also wants to release the world of the mistrusting amount from democracy supporters to be in the state, to assert his tyrannical dictatorship.
Im alten Ägypten fing Hohepriester Imhotep eine verbotene Beziehung mit Anck Su Namun, der Herrin des Pharaos Seti an. Wenn Seti davon erfährt, was weitergeht, stechen Imhotep und sein geliebtes ein ihn, aber können nicht den vertrauenswürdigen Wächtern entkommen: Anck Su Namnun beschließt Selbstmord zu begehen, während Imhotep mit dem Hom-Dai, dem am meisten gefürchteten Fluch von allen geschenkt wird: Er wird lebendig in Hamunaptra, der Stadt der Toten mumifiziert. Mehr als sechsunddreißig Jahrhunderte später, 1923, um genau zu sein, bringt Abenteurer Rick Ägyptologen Evelyn und ihren Bruder Johnathan zu mysteriösem Hamunaptra. Während Johnathan darauf scharf ist, die legendären ägyptischen Schätze zu finden, will Evelyn nach dem Buch des Lebens suchen, das sich sehr in historischen Kenntnissen über die alten Ägypter klären würde. Leider befreien sie und eine Rivalisieren-Gruppe von unbesonnenen amerikanischen Abenteurern die Mumie von Imhotep von seinem ewigen Gefängnis. Jetzt, mit dem alten und ziemlich flinken Hohepriester auf dem losen, sehen die Abenteurer und Wissenschaftler nicht nur einem gefährlichen Feind, sondern auch einer massiven Drohung gegen die heutige Welt ins Gesicht: Imhotep will Ankh-su-namun zurück lebendig werden lassen, den Körper von Evelyn verwendend, aber er will auch die Welt der misstrauenden Menge von Demokratie-Unterstützern befreien, um im Stande zu sein, seine tyrannische Zwangsherrschaft geltend zu machen.
