Plot Summary:
Maximus is a strong Roman general, loved by the people and the age emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Before his death the emperor Maximus chooses, around his inheritance about his own son to be Commodus and a struggle for power leaves Maximus and his family condemns to death. The strong general is except state to save his family, and his loss of the will allows to him to be put arrested and into the gladiatorial plays, until he dies. The only wish which delivers now fuel to him is the chance to rise to the point, so that he will be in the state to look in the eyes of the man who will feel his revenge.
Maximus ist ein starker römischer General, geliebt von den Leuten und dem Alterskaiser, Marcus Aurelius. Vor seinem Tod wählt der Kaiser Maximus, um sein Erbe über seinen eigenen Sohn, Commodus zu sein, und ein Machtkampf verlässt Maximus und seine Familie verurteilt zu Tode. Der starke General ist außer Stande, seine Familie zu retten, und sein Verlust des Willens erlaubt ihm, festgenommen und in die Gladiator-Spiele gestellt zu werden, bis er stirbt. Der einzige Wunsch, der ihm jetzt Brennstoff liefert, ist die Chance, sich zur Spitze zu erheben, so dass er im Stande sein wird, in die Augen des Mannes zu blicken, der seine Rache fühlen wird.
