Plot Summary:
After his Vice-president dies, suddenly the President (Jeff Bridges) who is near the end of its final term, decides to leave an inheritance by choosing a woman to fill position. Enter a Senator (Joan Allen), which moved of the Republican Party in the Democratic. At first by looking to be the perfect candidate, an allegation seems suddenly that it had been involved in a sexual bacchanal as a 19-year-old person in the secondary school. The president of committee of confirmation (Gary Oldman), a Republican, discloses information in the press, by using the debate of press as a forum to bring it in audiences. The president wants to accept a Governor (William Petersen) in the office. The Governor had become a national hero when he tried to save a young woman of a car who crashed of a bridge in deep water near where the Governor had fished.
Après que son Vice-président meurt subitement, le Président (Jeff Bridges) qui est près de la fin de son terme final, décide de quitter un legs en choisissant une femme pour remplir la position. Entrez dans un Sénateur (Joan Allen), qui s’est déplacée du Parti Républicain au Démocratique. Au départ en ayant l’air d’être le candidat parfait, une allégation semble subitement qu’elle avait été impliquée dans une orgie sexuelle comme une personne de 19 ans dans le collège. Le président de comité de confirmation (Gary Oldman), un Républicain, divulgue les renseignements à la presse, en utilisant la discussion de presse comme un forum pour l’apporter dans les audiences. Le président désire recevoir un Gouverneur (Guillaume Petersen) dans le bureau. Le Gouverneur était devenu un héros national quand il a essayé de sauver une jeune femme d’une voiture qui s’est écrasée d’un pont dans l’eau profonde près où le Gouverneur avait pêché.
