Plot Summary:
Crossing the city of Bannock, a branch of the intoxicated ones, to annoy for the track the cattle ones they go to the sea with his celebration and acidentalmente kill an old man with a stray shot. They return at home to Saturday of the Jews that ignores his death. The policeman of Bannock Jered Maddox then arrives there to detain everyone implicated under accusation of the murder. On Saturday of the Jews it is directed by the baron of land Vince Bronson, benevolent despot, who, to hear of the death, offers the restitution of the incident. Nevertheless, they will not compromise the Maddox though the small cooks as Vern Adams is not in a position to desert his responsibilities for a long and long proof. The Saturday marshal of the Jews, Algodão Ryan, is a policeman aged whose resistant reputation it rests in the only incident that took place years before. Ryan confesses to be only a shadow of what it once was and no threat of stopping Maddox. The Maddox entrusts to Ryan that the judicial system of Bannock is weak and corrupt, and while he is doubtful what someone whom he returns suffers more than the price of a bribery, he will not be descoroçoado in his inflexible pursuit of his duty. Initially Bronson looks when concessions disposed to be done, but when his friend the oldest Harvey Stenbaugh is killed after choosing deliberadamente a struggle with Maddox, Bronson delves into his jumps with the rest of the city in order that the implacable policeman holds out.
