Plot Summary:
Doug Ireland is the doorkeeper of a stinkvornehmen hotel in New York. He acts for what he has to satisfy the guests of the hotel, while he gets them what they need; how jewellery things, candy mints, and theatrical maps. He also tries to hold the manager, to dismiss Milton, the hotel page who became, in the hotel for more laboringly, than half a century who thinks with pleasure that the mind of the founder of the hotel still is all around. Doug wants to open his own hotel on Roosevelt Island. Now he has saved every cent he was able to get a choice on an old hotel. Now he has a thing of weeks to develop the hotel, or he will lose it. Doug Ireland ist der Portier eines stinkvornehmen Hotels in New York. Er tut, wozu er hat, die Gäste des Hotels zu befriedigen, indem er sie bekommt, was sie brauchen; wie Schmucksachen, Süßigkeiten-Minzen, und Theater-Karten. Er versucht auch, den Betriebsleiter davon abzuhalten, Milton, den Hotelpagen zu entlassen, der gewesen wurde, am Hotel für mehr arbeitend, als ein halbes Jahrhundert, wer gern denkt, dass der Geist des Gründers des Hotels noch ringsherum ist.
