The year is 1914 and Richard Hannay, the Engineer of the mines who visits Great Britain for short time before fact to be productive in Southern Africa, is shocked when one of his neighbours, colonel Scudder, enters waterspout in its rooms one night and says to him a history which the Prussian agents ‘ of sleeper ‘ plan to pre-begin the First World war by slaughtering minister of Foreign Affairs of visit. However, Scudder is slaughtered and Hannay is supervised for death by ‘ the sleepers ‘. By running away in Scotland Hannay try to clear its name and to stop the agents with the aid of Alex Mackenzie, but is not only it is followed by the leader Supt Lomas for the death of Scudder, but by the agents which is summer at the head by Appleton who succeeded in hiding in a position of high rank in the British Government.
L’année est 1914 et Richard Hannay, l’Ingénieur des mines qui visite la Grande-Bretagne pour un temps court avant le fait de rendre en Afrique du Sud, est choqué quand un de ses voisins, Colonel Scudder, entre en trombe dans ses pièces une nuit et lui dit une histoire que les agents ‘de dormeur’ prussiens projettent de pré-commencer la Première Guerre mondiale en assassinant un ministre des Affaires étrangères de visite. Pourtant, Scudder est assassiné et Hannay est encadré pour la mort par ‘les dormeurs’. En fuyant en Ecosse Hannay essaie de dégager son nom et arrêter les agents à l’aide d’Alex Mackenzie, mais est non seulement il est poursuivi par le Chef Supt Lomas pour la mort de Scudder, mais par les agents qui est été à la tête par Appleton qui a réussi à se cacher dans une position haut placée dans le Gouvernement britannique.
