To him being opened by the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, members of the Foresters’ 2nd Battalion under Cpt. Miller’s struggle to ground to assure to a beachhead. Between the clashes, two brothers are killed in combat. Earlier in New Guinea, a third brother is KIA. His mother, Sra. Ryan, must receive all the three of the serious telegrams during the same day. The Chief of Staff of Army of the United States, George C. Marshall, is given an opportunity to relieve little his sorrow when he learns of the fourth brother, James Ryan Privado, and decides to send 8 men (Cpt. Miller and members chosen between 2nd Foresters) to find him and to bring to him in house his mother.
