The freshman of secondary school Cassandra *quot; Cassie*quot; (Mélisse Sagemiller) walks in a nightmare of unconcerned signs of this world after fact to survive a devastating car accident. Haunted by a menacing reaper of a different distant kind, its only hope is to hold on tightly to accidental meetings with its lost love Sean (Casey Affleck) and the help of a young mysterious priest called the father Jude (Luke Wilson). It is the mind of Sean, his closest friend, that guides it to like, but it is his friends Matt (Wes Bentley), Annabel (Eliza Dushku) and the Raven of morose friend of Annabel (Angela Featherstone) which try to draw it in the dark side.

When does a prisoner transport the airplane that transports Deputy Sam Gerard as an escort falls, a prisoner, Mark Sheridan helps rescuing some prisoners trapped and soon it is avoided.
