The history follows mirabelle, a disillusioned shop assistant and striving artist who sells gloves and additions in a department store. She has two men in her life: well-to-do carrier of the divorced Ray (Steve Martin) and fighting musician Jeremy. Mirabelle falls in love with the charming ray, and her life takes a magic rotation, but, in the end, she understands that she must authorise herself and do a choice between them.
