In a small enclave in Texas, highlights the rites of passage into the last day of school in 1976 for the new year of entry into the hands of the class of 77 at Robert E. Lee High School. First year children are punished physically, while girls are largely the weight of insults and humiliations. Two main figures emerge. Incoming year Mitch Kramer comes to a new exercise, in its role as one of the main goals of high novatades. And among seniors is Randall "Pink" Floyd, the school quarterback star who moves with easy grace among groups of greasers, nerds, stoners, and athletes alike.
