Once a promising writer, John Hayson now happens with the rare work of writing. A personal tragedy has left him passionless on the world and his work and he lives through his life in the expectation. Barbara Covett is a veteran and cynical teacher who is close to the retirement. Martin Brody is the new leader of the police of Friendship, a city of appeal of island someplace in New England. He has a wife called Ellen and two sons called Michael and Sean. One summer morning, they call Brody to the beach, where the body mutilated by summer holidaymaker Chrissie Watkins washed itself in earth. The medical examinant says in Brody that it could have been a crook who killed Watkins. The mayor Larry Vaughn, who is despaired for step to lose some silver which will be introduced before July 4th of the tourists, wants Brody to say that the death of Watkins was caused by an aircraft propeller of motor boat instead of a crook, because the thought of a crook in waters of Friendship would start up tourists of Friendship. It seems that Vaughn is a mayor who puts some silver in front of the lives of people. The expert of crook Matt Hooper thinks that Watkins was killed by a crook. Hooper is just proved some days ago later, when Alex Kintner is killed by the crook who killed Watkins. By searching the quickest resolution, Vaughn tells all local fishers to allow him to know if they see the crook. A hunter of crook called the Quintuplet offers to find the crook and to kill it, but Vaughn thinks that the price of $10,000 quintuplet is too much high. When a crook of tiger is killed and brought by two or three boaters, Vaughn says hastily that the crisis of crook is finished, but Hooper says the crook it killed people a huge big white crook is always in waters of Friendship, but Vaughn leaves beaches opened because everything about that he cares is some tourist silver of July 4th. On July 4th, Vaughn encourages people to swim to the beach and Hooper is just proved once again when the crook kills a man, by tearing off the leg of the man just like that from tooth. Michael, who was in water at the time of the attack, is taken in the hospital, where they treat it for shock after fact to watch the crook killing the guy. Brody asks Vaughn to hire the Quintuplet to find the crook. Since his own kids were in this beach also, Vaughn agrees to hire the Quintuplet to find the crook. The quintuplet, Hooper and Brody are sent in the sea to the boat of Quintuplet, the Orc, ready to make whoever he takes to find the crook. Brody demande à Vaughn d’engager le Quintuplé pour trouver l’aigrefin. Puisque ses propres gamins étaient à cette plage aussi, Vaughn accepte d’engager le Quintuplé pour trouver l’aigrefin. Marion (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi) and Gilles (Ð Saint and *185; the phane Freiss) they are surviving his last minutes like a married couple. Depois ter formalizado o seu divórcio, eles farão amor pela última vez em um hotel, mas a experiência é bastante traumática para Marion, contribuindo para aumentar a crise entre eles. Deste ponto, a história, avariada em 5 episódios, correrá para trás, dizendo-nos a vida casada do par, mostrando-nos o seu amor dedicado a seu pequeno filho, mas também como Gilles prejudicou Marion de vários modos.
