After the abandonment of the army Brian Flanagan (Tom Cruise) tries to get a market job in New York. But without university degree this was not possible. Then he decides to start, to study for a commercial degree in the local city college, and gets a part-time job as Barmann. He understands that his not, that easily, but if his new boss Douglas Coughlin (Brian Brown) informs him the secrets of bar trade and they become the most famous Barmänner in the city. Brian *amp; one day her own top-class cocktail sticks want Doug Coughlin as well as the cocktail stick of Brian has to do ‘ cocktails *amp; dreams are called, and to get the necessary money to open it, Brian travels after Jamaica to work as Barmann on a resort Tiki bar, and the payment is good. There he meets Jordan Mooney (Elisabeth Shue), a young and nicely, and the coming American artist on the vacation with her friend of New York, in the island resort remaining. Jordan and Brian spends a high-class time together and falls in love. But if Brian risking of his old friend, Doug Coughlin takes to sleep with an older woman who also remains in the resort. Jordan, itself even the daughter of well-to-do parents back in New York, leaves the island overnight, after seeing Brian and the older woman together after the fastening. Will Jordan one day forgive for Brian, and will they come back together???.
